Well they dug it up to study it it's called zombie virus sibce Those viruses survived thousands of years in ice, and due to climate change glaciers are being melted which can results to ancient viruses being swept up in ocean and contamites us. Scientists dig it up to study so we can be prepared since if ever they contaminate. Better being prepared than sorry
