Midoriya actually cares about interpersonal relationships and helping others. Hajin (this story's MC) only helps those he deems of use to him. Big fundamental difference. If anything, Hajin is closer to Todoroki.
If you said the original MC (Suho) was Midoriya like, I would agree.
