Why do mangas always treat other people or ancient people as stupid? It's not like they are cavemen, they even have beautiful embroidery. They should know how to cook. Unless it's because these elves are just children.

I wouldn't call them stupid they are on the eve of experimenting they have no idea what goes well together and considering the neck chopping rule non are willing to actually experiment they just using recipes that works. Regardless of how it tastes.
