It's very common for just talking to other person to turn into a rumour of dating. People like to gossip so they can make rumour out of anything. I stopped talking to boys because of the girls of my class teasing me about a boy that I was just talking to and since then I stopped talking to boys but now I can talk a little bit with them as they don't start rumours now..kinda strange that they did that in middle school but not in high school
