@Vkei That's because every romance-writter-wannabes just don't understand the genre. Numerous ppl still think it'd be "the easiest genre to try your hand at". Sure that genre looks "easy" at fist (even more when it's well executed) but in fact, it's surprisingly easier to fail at it.
If we exclude regtran (regression or transmigration) plots, then you have indeed close to no good romance lately. Only old titles hold to the core. For instance :

As for the regtran plots, some are quite the lazy pretext for authors to magically add this or that in their clumsy attempts to meat-up their story. Worse being the cases where either authors are tying to drag things on an unneeded new season, or pizza-ed stories that make less and less sense as authors added so much bs that it becomes savorless.
