@Alfredo pulvera The way of the pen can foul up too. In "Myth Conceptions" (Robert Asprin), the castle walls are left unfinished because of the minister in charge of the treasury (penny-pinching twerp that he is). This in a world at lower medieval levels, where doing that is strategically stupid.

What's needed with either type is someone who can look at the big picture while setting aside personal desires and biases, and someone who either has strategically sound mind or knows they have to hire someone who has one.
