@Ascorbic Acid the answer is simple, manhwa MCs can pull that off because the one threatening them can't actually kill them unlike here in Kaiju where there are literally people who are capable of killing the MC. Basically they just make the MC in manhwa obviously way too op that none will soon be able to kill him, I've seen many manhwa with this type of thingy that I mentioned and I must say, can't exactly agree on Manhwa mcs being better. Other than them being not a pushover but that's just because author made them ridiculously over powered
If No. 8 ever manage to confirm his power/strength to be able to survive the fight, absolute against all, I'm sure MC wouldn't bother and let's be honest, those Manhwa MCs that aren't pushovers "usually" don't have anything they value other than themselves so they can pull it off unlike the MC here AKA fulfilling his dream of battling Kaiju with Mina by his side and along with the third division unit. AKA to be defiant means to lose this, he has something he values other than himself unlike those "not pushover Manhwa MCs" who only has to worry about themself which is why they have the privilege to be an a**, even to the ones sitting at the top of the authority
