When he reached 99 percent immersion, the duchess killed him and they discovered an error in the system, after a meeting with the tower higher ups, as a result, he was able to go back a day in the butler's perspective (the original butler) so if he dies there, when time goes back, he's still in that world, if he died 10 times consecutively while he was in his own perspective, he would go back to the part where they were choosing what novels/books to use as a setting and to turn as a floor so they can beat it, I hope that clears up the misunderstanding

Refer to chapter 102 so you can understand it better, while in the meeting, the constellations were deciding what to do and since the death sovereign discovered an error and because the tower higher up is nice (referring to how she always wishes players luck and that they let the people stay in the first floor instead of forcing them all to fight  in the upper floors by making the floor inaccessible and about how the tower bosses weren't really bad people and they were nice people too), the higher up let's him travel back 24 hours into time IN THE BUTLER'S PERSPECTIVE. There's different perspectives given the fact that there was an original butler and him that took over the butler's body/role
