@xaxa I don't really know who you are talking about or what's the story about but I can (kinda) understand him/her, in one side you have the argument that illegal sites give more popularity to your work but at the same time, there are people who's only source of income is their manga/manwha/manhua/story and having people not buy your work (or read it in the original website as there are some that give you money for the amount of views you get) can be annoying because its money you are losing for your hard work.

Is like you working for $300 a month just to find out that your boss was actually using you to do his job in where he earns more than $1000 a month, that would make you mad, right?

So while I don't agree with that person literally giving death threats, I can understand that person's meltdown/anger. I'm not against piracy (specially with videogames because you don't own a game, you just own the entry ticket and whenever that game company decides, you can't play it again and that's money stolen forever) but I think her/his overreacting was the reason people may be angry at that person.
And also, the content of the story really doesn't matter to the argument because based on it, 90% of authors shouldn't monetize their works because it includes any other "illegal" activity, specially +18 authors who's income is to draw illicit work in all kind of genres of p0**.
@AcDe most ppl reading are 15-18 so they can't get a job in most country, not every country is like America. If she really wants her fans to read it legally atleast make the manhwa fuc**** good for g**'s sake. So yes people WILL be pirating her work if they wanna. And if making manhwa w ra** is the only job a person has then they gotta grow the fu** up.
@xaxa I think her crash out is real. If she was making enough money, or the ppl around her were not getting affected much with illegal sites, she would have ignored it. We're basically cutting her income down, that she earns through hard work.
The fact that illegal sites does promote a work is true as well. If 1000 ppl knew about something, they will at least tell 10 ppl and in that 10, one of them will be able to actually buy chapters. Illegal sites are more freely available then paid ones.
I think they need to work smartly to resolve this issue, since not everyone can pay, they should make something like that would allow one to read a chapter after 2-3 adds. And she can earn through those adds. And brands pay more than what normal people can pay. And it's more stable as well.
I've seen many artists who dropped their work and started a cooperate job, as it was a lot of work and not enough money to support themselves...

Btw how does these scanning grps earn??? Grps like jujucat etc, they make such high quality translated versions. How do they get paid
@Zozo ig but idgaf, if she rlly wants ppl to read them legally she should make better stuff rather than romantsized ra** story and a ra** apologist ml
Also idk and atleast iont think ppl who translate manhwas (illegally) gets paid at all, they js do it cs they wanna read them early and let others read it
