@Astral Trinity I saw someone who read the novel, mark it as an upper tier series. Its the reason why I want to give it another chance.

@RecklessSavage I've read upto chapter 260 so far (binged in 3 days) and I'd say it's enjoyable. No serious plot twist (there are light ones), and the world building is good.

There isn't any extensive romance.
Spoiler!

A few hero candidates have romantic feelings for the MC, with the most clear ones being Chloe and Chen Xia (the latter was even directly revealed to our dense-like-a-black-hole MC through Xia's dad (the emperor of manhwa-incarnated-china).

Other than that, although MC is dense, REALLY FUC*** DENSE, the dragon lord (his hero comrade from 5k years ago) confesses to him through a letter (in her personal diary that he reads) in the future. MC is surprised and says he never noticed. He also gets lost in thoughts for a few days over that, probably thinking of his potential love life if Lysinas (the dragon's name) had confessed when both were alive.

Other than that, the only other one is Luna (the elf hero who was also his teammate). She returns to the past, albeit temporarily, and confesses to him. She also kisses him at that moment (on the cheek) before disappearing. Although, I think it's very likely that she will return in the future).

But this is, like, really far into the novel. So no early romance at least.

And the MC doesn't act like a pushover that blushes over the hero candidates, kids to him, acting romantic and all that.
