Doesn't feel like the story started to focus a lot more on the side characters rather than the main ones?

Although he learned he's leading Asuka on and it can cause issues, he continues to do it and more often than not takes her for granted like she's going to be there forever yet he can't commit anything to her then gets angry she talks to other random guys.

Usually you would feel annoyed that another guy might be introduced, like blondy kendo guy with Asuka, but at this point she might just be better off on her own enjoying life than waiting around to be toyed with ...no?
