"a human side to her" ?? Does she not see them as actual living breathing humans?? Something like NPCs who hold no emotions of their own and are doing what was predetermined for them? Cuz it's not as if sharne is an evil demonlike character.
Also her "when I was just a reader" "now to me they are real people" it's contradictory to her earlier monologue.
Then she says "I want to see in person the childcare story in which you are the main character" and contradicts herself again... She keeps going back and forth... like why see it through others?? You have a father who wants to make it up to you and wants to do everything possible to keep you happy and cared for. But she ignores that and focuses on watching the "main character"? She's still treating them as characters of a novel as if she's still not part of this world.... Like she's an outsider looking in through the window.
She wants to "see" what it's like to be cared for as a child but refuses to acknowledge that she is a child being cared for now.
