@Crimson Rain yeah honestly cuz think about what could have happened if he chose them...he jus wants them to live happily without his destroyed mental health,his broken heart and broken soul... He wants them to live not slowly die like he has. He does not want them to lose their youth on someone who looks like their death bed. He wants them happy,alive,well,mentally stable and once more peaceful...
