you ignore 1 small detail. the patriarch didnot know his father, so they were not even cousins (the patriarch and mcs father), becouse if they were, they would know each ather, same generation and so.
i think mcs father is the son of the cousin of the patriarchs father, or maybe even the son of the son of the cousin of the patriarchs father.
