I think so people in the comments have setted some unrealistic expectation of him in their minds because as far as i have read, he majorly did nice sh** and rarely made bad actions but unnecessary hatred i have seen for him in the comments is insane. He is pretty much the first ml i have seen with a plot like this where he is self aware and knows where he is mature/immature, right or wrong and makes efforts.
