Now the thing that is NOT normal is Elf not being able to reproduce with another Elf, that is just simply BUUUULLL SHIIIIIIITTTTTT ... if that was true the Elf would have ceased to exist as a race long long ago, they would all be just all half-elf, quater-elf, 1/8 elf, diluted washedout elf.
Back on topic, if I was MC I'd have immediately accepted the proposal, a gyaru Elf for wifu he** yeah that's every boy's dream. 😁
@lololol lololol yes, like Lamia, Amazoness tribe, and some other well know "races" , but that's the thing they all have long established racial traits from long common knowledge, even if said common knowledge are fictional.
Author could have come up with a new race, or used the proper race like the Lamia or Amazon as example to fill the role of that Elf.
Author himself even made use of the Elf racial traits within the manga he mentioned long life, high magical power, alway arguing with Dwarves... Yet he conveniently forget Elf can reproduce with fellow Elves.
That's call breaking character, in this case it's breaking the character racial traits.
It would have worked, if the author spend a few more scenes and cooked a back story Only for her, it could be something simple like a curse preventing her from reproducing with fellow Elves, or maybe a traumatic PTSD back story that keeps her from being with other Elves, which fits perfectly to her situation since she's in a mostly human village.
Anyway most mistakes can be fixed with a few more pen strokes to make things more believable, otherwise it's just lazy story writing
