@Bun Games That's a really cool thought and interpretation.  I honestly take the shadowed faces as another kind of expression, as a creative way of showing a lack of emotion, making "unreadable", or "expressionless" kind of faces.  That kind of face when you've gone a little dead inside your soul, or when you have deep emotions that you just dont feel okay showing to the person in front of you, such as sadness, guilt, hurt, etc. so you just learn to swallow and push them down so others don't see the extent to them.  Which makes sense to me since kim dan is currently trying to shut out/down jaekyung emotionally.
