Okay, I’ve more or less figured out the dynamics between the characters, so here’s a quick summary for those who didn’t get it:
Our MC is in love with ML Han. ML Han is a closeted gay guy who’s turned into a straight bully—complete with the “I love you, so I’ll bully you” cliché—and he has his sights set on Twink Han. Go Yohan, on the other hand, clearly seems to have an obsession or attraction toward our MC. Clearly, he’s doing everything he can to “get on his good side” and hang out with him. I suspect Go Yohan doesn’t care one bit about ML Han and is hanging out with him just because the MC is in love with him...
Anyway, basically, it’s kind of a love quadrangle. Twink Han is being harassed by ML Han because the latter can’t accept his attraction to him (to another man); the poor guy has to put up with ML Han’s unhealthy obsession with him. Since our MC understands this very well, he uses Twink Han to try to get closer to his crush, ML Han, who couldn’t care less about him. Unfortunately, our MC is selfish, so even when Twink Han is nice to him, he doesn’t care and turns a blind eye to ML Han’s disgusting behavior. He’ll do anything to stay in ML Han’s good graces and get his attention. If he’s ever asked ML Han to stop bullying Twink Han, it’s not because bullying is wrong—it’s because by bullying him, ML Han is giving Twink Han too much attention, and the MC can’t stand it: that’s why it’s even more toxic.
Finally, there’s Go Yohan. He clearly has a thing for the MC—that’s why he acts this way toward him: he defends him against ML Han, and he gets upset when he sees the MC groveling or bending over backward to please ML Han... Basically, he doesn’t like seeing the MC step aside for ML Han, just as he’s frustrated that the MC doesn’t think highly of him. Go Yohan is always watching the MC, except that the MC is watching ML Han, who in turn is watching Twink Han: it’s a really twisted group dynamic, but that’s what makes the whole thing interesting.
I’m just looking forward to the moment when the MC stops seeing ML Han as a god and leaves him to wallow in his own mess. I’ll admit I’m sick of seeing the MC become just as bad as his crush. He’s so in love with him that it doesn’t bother him to see a kind and gentle person getting bullied—it’s really twisted.
