@Kiwi he married her so he could cheat. He's married and gets all the benefits of a wife, but can still play as if he's single, and won't be expected to be held responsible for the other woman either - because they knew he was already married.
He got her to sign a lopsided contract, one she didn't understand the intentions of , that favoured him. He has been in sole control from the start, and can end the marriage and toss her out on a whim. She was in a position of poverty and has nothing that she owns. The money, the house, even her things, he paid for them, owns them and can take everything.He probably thinks he owns her as well.
