@Slurpee Monster  I agree, but the storytelling feels lacking after a few chapters. Characters develop relationships with each other way too quickly and in ways that feel unnatural, and major events feel like they were put on an outline and the author looked for the fastest way to get to the next bullet point.

I really like the core premise and themes, and the characters themselves are pretty decent despite being a little trope-y. The overall story feels underwhelming, though. Hopefully it improves in a couple of chapters, but I might end up dropping it.
