fun fact: the reason you cut wood and let it dry
is coz wood is made of a lot of water you increase the surface area so it evaporate off more quicker and let it dry.
plus the bark around the wood acts as a fire proof barrier (i mean it'll still burn but not as efficiently) so better cut up

Another proof that how we all are connected isn't?, I mean for example humans. If you'll chop human flesh it too will bleed for a while and then left in normal or cold storage it dries up, you can cook it ( not humans but chicken/fish/etc) with it's dried blood
