I'm a little shook by how split people are in the comments. They're both sh** and have done sh** things but they both have VALID (not necessarily morally correct) reasons.
Peter, who spent most of his time with Jennie, felt frail and insignificant from his physical health, who never did anything for himself, confronted Jennie before her depression struck worse. Please understand how sensitive this topic is. Mental health is incredibly complex and soul-crushing. Do keep in mind Peter has also dropped a few times how much *he* wants to die from the situation. He's not well and hasn't been. He's being driven by the guilt Jennie imposed on him. Hes deliriously trying to make things right in his own way.
and then Philip. His world view has been limited since birth. He's never understood why people do things and behave a certain way. He can't be expected to understand how Jennies death affected Peter. I'm surprised people don't either. Philip has never experienced connection in a way that "guilt" could sway your actions.
