I don't see why people are abandoning this. It's obviously a prolouge.
If you read Pearl boy, then you should see no problem with this beginning. Yeah, i know the characters weren't this affectionate in the beginning of PB, but ya'll should get my point.

Since the beginning of time it's been sausage in hole. So me sing this isn't a problem, it's simply the way of life.
So I'll just keep reading and see where this goes.
