Just because one thing happens doesn''t justify it. That's like saying "Everyone pretty much uses slurs, so let's say them too!" Sure there may be a lot of "adult" stories that use ra**, but normalization doesn't make it right.  And as a writer, I believe that I have plenty of imagination regarding DIFFERENT routes in which the MC could have taken when abused in a world where strong pray in the weak. There's essentially a whole genre dedicated to similar situations...
But then again...you can like what you like.
