I don't think they will return to their normal life after. I think the more she kills, the more the detective and police will catch up with her. So when there remains only one, she will have a meeting with the final kid somewhere before the police comes and gets them.
Now we have multiples choices of how it ends:
1 - she kills him but die during the process so they both die and the police comes too late.
2 - the last kid have trapped the woman using the detective somehow, and the couple have to take down together the kid which mean they kill him (unintentionally or not)
3 - the woman die and the one to kill the kid is her husband. Maybe he kills himself after while saying "i should join you for eternity mu familynow bla bla bla"
4 - the woman kills the last kid, the detective die during the process has he cames before the police catch up. The woman have a mental breakdown as she wonder if things would have changed if she have let go from her dead son.
5 - she kill the last kid, and the police never found her. She leaves eveeything to live like a hermit somewhere really far (i don't think it's possible since do far, we see her having more and more obstacles facing her.)
6 - The last kid kill the woman, the husband finds out he killed her and, after knowing why she did all that, he understands her feelings a bit more clearly and decide to take revenge.
7 - neither options i have mentioned in the previous points.
