The wrong people are reading this manhwa. Seriously, maybe this is meant for older and more mature people, or maybe everyone just don't know how to read or interpret a text, because how the fu** do y'all think the mom deserves this much hate? She lived in another timeline, changed after traveling back in time, and she is not perfect. She asked herself why is motherhood so difficult, and she's trying to make amends, she's recognizing her patterns. How about y'all don't throw your mommy issues here, because if she had a di** I'm sure 99% would ignore it and try to justify it (because that's what most readers of Who Made Me a Princess do, and Claude is pure trash).

@ihatemyseltsmitscrazy Not brainwashed, he chose to kill his feelings with black magic. Yeah he didn't know he would come to love Athanasia, but even after the blackwash he did in himself was lifted, he was still the same guy. We get to see him smiling at the end, and that's it. Bro got one of the worst redemption arcs. Also I really hated how Athanasia had to change her whole personality, become a cute daddy's girl just to constantly survive in the palace. Realistically, she would've even lost her sense of identity and could get PTSD or anxiety. It wasn't wholesome and cute. And it sadly showed how even the author, and Koreans in general think lightly about abusive parents. Especially if they're a handsome man. On the other side, the mom in this manhwa doesn't commit half of the atrocities Claude did and is getting harsh judgment. I wonder why...? Oh, yeah, she's a woman. So she needs to be a perfect mother because it's an obligation, but the man can be a flawed dad since he's a man. It's just the double standards, you know?
@burningpile Yeah I do that haha just sad how the judgement on the mother is so hard, and gasp, everyone here are women too! (maybe one or two not, but most of them). Like I know it's mostly young girls who read such manhwas, so they haven't suffered how much misogynistic society is yet, but where is sympathy? Motherhood is such a burden, and people think women who say this don't deserve to be mothers, but it's the true. It is a burden even if we love our kids, and parents are still flawed people. She's changing and I love that for her. I just hope those young girls reading grow up and become supportive and more empathetic.
@superealme Yeah like burningpile said: putting men on pedestals, sad but a reality still. I'm glad that this author's writing is mature enough that I can see the mother is changing and becoming better. She's is having a character arc, you know?

Also imagine feeling love and affection for someone for the first time in ur whollleeeee life until they die and it hurted so bad u had to choose to kill ur feelings, also athanasia wanted love and she got it by breaking his curse he would have always loved her but he was a messed up man since birth for a reason
