I understand where Agia is coming from, he's being held captive by the church since he was a kid. He has gotten to the point where he doesn't know what's real anymore and doesn't want to know that the prophecy might be a lie because then that means his suffering and the death of his mother were for nothing.
He knew the only way he could control Ken was with the curse situation and now that that's gone and his mind is just so deep into despair, he tells Ken all this because he's just lost and wants the pain to stop. They are in love, but Agia doesn't want to admit it because he thinks whatever he feels is just a byproduct of the prophecy. He stopped thinking of himself as a individual the moment he walked into that church.
