reason why he compares her to the canary is because the bird is layla to him, just in his cage. UNDER HIS CONTROL. he CLIPS her wings and CAGES her so that she doesn't leave. which is why the birdie is like the color of layla's hair. he will do worse things to layla but ill leave it at that😖
