Comment on ChapterSong Baek - Chapter 55
The fu** kind of bullshit is this man. Only showing  the younger brother side, then killing off the older one. I'm out of this. That's a huge disappointment.

@HASHI  I let this marinate since chp 20, can you give me a little summary so that I can decide whether to continue or not
Spoiler!
Spoiler text.two brothers. Their family was assassinated in one night. They're the only survivors. The only thing they have left to represent their family was their family's token, which was divided in half, one in each brother's hands. They got separated while the older brother was searching for food for both of them. From this point on, they only showed the progression of the little brother. They only showed the older brother progression like twice or thrice, and it was very short. Now the little brother POV was kind off bad for me. He was simping for an idiotic girl, and he kept getting in trouble because of her, and he was too much emotional, quick to act and couldn't see the consequence of his actions. The family who raised the little brother got targeted by an eunuch, who wanted to seize power and destroy that family. Fast forward, the little brother becomes strong, get his revenge on the eunuch who tried to seize power. And we get back to the older brother, who got news of the ones who assassinated their family, he tried to get his revenge on them, but he ends up getting poisoned, and died. The little brother was coincidentally passing by the same road the older brother was fighting on, and decided to investigate, and rescued him without even knowing it was his older brother. Once he put him to safety, inside their family's ruin, he realized that was his older brother, when he handed him the half piece of their family token before dying. That's it, now we gotta watch the little brother finish everything.

@HASHI  you do know the manhwa is named after the main character that they're showing the whole time right? its not named the brother who got deleted its named after the one who's avenging him. i keep seeing people comment about the brother but, its clearly not about him. sort glad it ended him the way it did so people can stop asking to bring the older brother back or low key wanting him to be the main character.
@degenx it's not about that, it's about how they made the older brother irrelevant. The story could've been better, but the way they build the dynamic around them felt unbalanced, showing more of the younger one, and just killing off the older one just like a simpleton wasn't good at all. Keep in mind, I don't hate the younger brother, I just hated how he behaved in the beginning of the story, simping for that girl and making rash emotional decisions without reflecting on the consequences. It could've been better, by not showing the older brother often, he looks like a weakling obsessed with revenge and couldn't achieve it, while the younger one looks an over talented that can do what he wants. I'm not asking for a cliché scene where the older dies and by the power of love the younger gets stronger, but the brothers's bond, their separation and reunion could've been a lot better than just doing this. Why put the older in such details then, the author should've just made him invisible and kill him off screen since the beginning.

@HASHI  i do agree with that they didnt give them any developement time and so forth but i'm guessing the author didnt know what to do with the brother since he was probably more well liked than the main character. but from the little that we saw the brother had a female counter part too so in a sense i'm assuming the same way everyone hated the girl mc was chasing they'd probably hate the female counter part for the brother but who knows. personally i'd prefer if there was little to no romance and just focus'd on character dev. and instead of making the brother be one of the greats disciples just had him join a large sect. the author did make the brother a huge focal point due to that one detail. in a way it is sort of poorly written in that aspect.  and it does suck like you said they didnt even get a chance to bond or the mc didnt evenk give his brother closure when he found him in that state.  feels like the author didnt know what to do or how to handle scenarios like that

@degenx yh it's kinda wasted. And the romance could've been good even if it was cliché, the problem was how they portrayed the girl, she's like someone who doesn't know how anything works. She can't see that her beauty was causing trouble not only for the mc but also for her own family since many was after her. What sealed the deal about her for me was two things. First one was when her father decided to take the mc as his heir, he explained to the mc that he knows he has many enemies due to his power and actions, and therefore he'll pass all of that to him too. Now with a reflection like that, a father like him would also educate her daughter to be careful and show her how the world works for someone of their status, and yet the daughter was acting like a complete idiot, second thing was when she escaped at night to go visit the mc in prison, that's was so dumb, and the dumbest thing was the servants of the house agreeing with her to go undercover and covering her absence for a while at night because of "love", and because of that she not only got discovered by the enuch targeting her family, but a random mercenary fell in love with her at first sight, in just one night, undercover and with no one to protect her. Man this sh** pis*** off so bad. It made no sense at all.

@HASHI  Personally I don't think the author has any experience when it comes to actual romance, or how interactions should more or less work, i'm going to go out on a limb here and assume this is a korean manhwa but if it is korean based its reading more like a chinese based martial arts manhua. which is sad because the way the interactions and relationships work out fall straight up in line with the chinese variant one where its super cliche, the mc is super emotional and makes outlandish decisions and no one questions it, and the females act either really villainous or they're super inexperienced and really annoying.  I like the concept of the story but I hate the delivery of the story. The character dev also follows the same layout.  I hope the author improves but it's only one of those wait and see.  It doesn't help that the translations from early on were missing a few pages for at least a good while.
