@Rilka i don't NEED to read more because I'm educated. This obviously takes place post-civil war in the United States. The mc is a PRIVILEGED WHITE MAN with the love interest being a MIXED NATIVE AMERICAN, who were ALSO enslaved during this time. In fact, early colonists relied MORE on indigenous slaves because the African American slavery became the dominant system. The fact the author looked at this and went "yup I'll write a story about these people" is disrespectful as f*k. and don't you dare say this is something with us Americans and to deal with our history, like what does that even mean? and yeah, it IS a VERY sensitive topic, why write a story about it??? and who is blaming who???? you're just straight up ignorant and are choosing not to learn or acknowledge why this is harmful.
