@hannaiiixx SPOILERS ALERT FOR ANYONE ELSE READING (it won’t let me hide the text)
Grayson, if you haven’t noticed 😅 is unhinged like most hyper dominant alphas in this universe. His upbringing also plays a huge role in his personality and emotional capacity.
Grayson doesn’t have a sense of Right & Wrong or social cues. So his parents taught him how to mask(like an autistic person). Grayson does his best to mimic people around him but it never really comes out right.
Also Grayson was taught to follow some core rules like “always listen to your parents” and “don’t break the law” (example that is why he always waits for someone to hit him first and says “now it’s self defense” before he fights back 😅)
Given all that background info, what Grayson is going to do is jump in the hole with the little boy to keep him company. Because the abusive father told the little boy to stay there and again one of the rules you never break is “listen to your parents”
So Grayson thinks by keeping the little boy company he is doing a good deed.
The problem is the abusive father doesn’t come back to check on the little boy for DAYS. Grayson stays with him the entire time. So when he doesn’t show up for his next shift at the firehouse everyone is going to freak tf out. They think he’s been kidnapped(always a possibility lol)
Eventually someone thinks to go back to the house fire since it was the last place everyone saw Grayson. Dane gets annoyed that they have to look for the bastard and he wanders away and accidentally finds Grayson and the boy. Unfortunately the abusive father also shows up drunk af and tries to start a fight. But Dane quickly puts 2 & 2 together and gets the abusive father arrested. This is also the point where Dane starts to realize that Grayson isn’t malicious on purpose, he just is missing a few screws in the head. So instead of getting mad at Grayson he just explains to him how he went about everything wrong. I think he also tells Grayson that next time he’s about to make a moral decision that he should just ask Dane first to see if it is a good/socially acceptable one.
It’s been a hot minute since I read the novel so I could have gotten some of the details wrong but that’s kinda the gist of what I remember 🤗
The novel is good but the pacing and back n forth between Dane and Grayson is a little drawn out. The pacing of the manhwa is doing pretty good so far and not skipping too many details.
