I have so many questions. And no answers at all.
Chang-geon isn't the son of the previous emperor? So it wasn't even his destiny or his family?
Is Hwanjo planning to blame the new emperor for the empty treasury in 3 years and the illnesses and disasters that have come? Even though this emperor has clearly been on the throne for less than 3 years.
What was the elder brother's (former Crown Prince Hwanjo's) original plan? He first persuaded Sam-Myeong to try to mend his relationship with Emperor Chang-geon. Was that part of the plan? So that their relationship would improve, Chang-geon would feel happy and at peace, and then Hwanjo would reveal the truth about Chang-geon's actions and everything would fall apart? And the essence of the plan was to drive Chang-geon to a state where he would become indifferent to the throne, because he had already lost everything he held dear? And Sam-Myeong was just a tool?
All this to regain the throne?
I don't know... it seems that even without Sam-Myeong, the emperor could have been accused of being an illegitimate heir, of being the reason for the emptying of the treasury, and of being the cause of all the disasters. As if "improving relations" were an optional step. Perhaps revenge?
