rethinking my thoughts on the empress as its blatant (RIGHT NOW) that she doesn't care all that much about her son thus being the reason he acts the way he does so that he can get at least some attention from her, however as we dont know her full intentions yet this is all ima say for now... (hope that the third prince sees her as either a teacher or mother figure :3)
