However, there are situations where humans can and have to make such a decision (for example, criminals who have committed atrocious crimes, or in deciding who to save when lacking time, skill and resources in a medical facility) fortunately, that hasn’t been the case so far in this series, so your point is valid in this circumstances

@Random commenter imo death is the easy way out for such criminals and many survivors have said the same. Fred West avoided all criminal responsibility because he killed himself before the trial, it's estimated to be more than 100 dead but because of that his wife was charged with only 3 murders when she took part in many more. only 3 families got compensation and acknowledgement, the rest do not have closure. theres many who won't even know what happened to their sisters, their daughters, their friends, because of his cowardice.
