Maybe it's because I've never had a single maternal bone in my bone or cause I've never wanted to have kids but I always find it strange in these stories when the mother puts their own well being over the child. You can have another one.

@Mpazi that is mom.. your child is your own bloodline.. you carry them in your own womb.. you are the one who make them.. so they will love the child even if they need to sacrifice their own life
@Mpazi I guess... giving birth to someone they created within their own body gives them maternal instincts. The kid is their own bloodline made from the flesh and blood of its mother. Naturally, a normal mother would instinctively sacrifice anything if it meant their child will live well because of it.
Same goes for the father, minus the baby being inside them, haha.

@AnUnknownPerson ooooh, ok. So then you die, and that kid ends up being pushed around from place to place, if they're a single mom. Which most of these women are in these stories when they run away from the ML, and the kid might end up having just as terrible a life as she did. At least maybe in reality there's some support but I'm strictly speaking on these stories. Always, always they have no support. It's just that the story favours them so they make it through child birth and go back to their abusive ex who's 'reformed'. But yeah sure, you knew you were gonna die if you keep the kid so I guess it won't have a mother and that's the sacrifice you're willing to take. How selfless.
@Kim Dokja Dumb. That's the rubbish they've sold to women. Make another one. Or don't have one if you know you'll die during child labour. What, just to leave it alone for the world to devour? To leave the person, I assum, you loved enough to marry to be without you. Oh you don't love him as much as your child? Congratulations, you left your kid with, at best, an emotionally immature man ,at worst, an abusive one.
@Mpazi same but i think its because of attachment. You get attached to something and then it gets harder to leave that thing.
@Mpazi I don't mean to be rude, but I don't understand what you just said. Was your original comment stating you don't understand how motherhood works? Or why the mother in this story prioritised herself instead of her kid?
