When mc said "they should have warned me" my brain immediately went "they? They who? Wasn't he alone in the he'll difficulty? Was there someone before the girl?" And then I realised that they was referred to kirikiri.
Use "it" for pronouns if you don't know the gender you idiots.
We say it is a baby because we don't know the gender of the godsdamned baby.
No one says they are a baby!
