Don't even ask girl herself but listen to the woman with whom the same kid didn't interact at all and send her off only to show up as a "hero" later? Wow, such a great man /sarcasm/.
Srsly, if you think that this kind of behavior logical be careful while you yourself will be raising and educating your kids, or taking care of children in general. If you are going to belive any random person about what child wants to do, be not surprised to what can become of kids whom were neglected like this.
It's not even about her being his kid. It's about how he as an adult taking care of the child whom trusted him to keep her safe. Only to be kicked out because another person told him that "they had a conversation". Just to be clear.
