@esryzc a lot of what people say is "throw yourself out there" and "just do it!" but I think it's dependent where you are at in life. Some people need to work on themselves before even thinking about htrowing themselves out there... while some need to throw themselves out there in order to improve. The important thing is recognizing what you want to improve and then matching those needs to something that's workable: as ridiculous as it sounds, set goals and work toward them.
