Even after 1000 years of him trying to be a human Jack still can't seem to understand how humans truly are, well can't really blame him since he is a dragon. Jack can't seem to understand that even if Ian and Brian look the same and may have the same soul they are still not the same and have different personalities due to their circumstances while growing up and the surrounding. Just because Ian was Brian in his past life doesn't mean he will act accordingly. The problem between them is communication.
