@suzuya i've been going through forums and reviews trying to see if anyone has any spoilers bc i was wondering the same thing. i haven't come across anything to confirm it, but i'm going with my gut feeling.
the story seems to deal with suicide ideation, rαpe, self-harm, depression and other really dark, heavy themes with relish rather than with sensitivity. the amount of times violent sexual fantasies and sadomasochistic ra** has been graphically depicted to us kind of gets across the message that the goal is not to focus on lee geom and his ultimate happy ending by coping with all this trauma, but rather by fetishising and romanticising it, painting it as something poetic and, dare I say, desirable? given everything we've seen and the writers' penchant for hurting lee geom, i bet he'll end up with the worst and most toxic choice possible.
and that's reider, the one who's literally enabling him, almost grooming him in the s** industry by "reminding him of genuine pleasure" or whatever the fu** this is supposed to be
