It's kind of sad because Dan is justifying and internalizing the abuse. "He does some nice things for me, so it's okay that he doesn't treat me with respect. I owe him for being nice sometimes." Poor Dan. I had to break myself out of that cycle years ago. Though, Joo is nicer than what I dealt with so it's easy to see why, and he's hot.
