I don't really know what caused this phenomenon, but yes your correct he indeed started knotting.
The lightsaber will swell and get bigger inside especially the ba*** to prevent the partner from escaping and the chance of getting pregnant is huge. But since both of them were alpha the pregnato process won't succeed
