i dont like Garps motivations but i can kinda understand them, he likes the idea of the Marines enough to turn a blind eye to the messed up things the World Govt does. Harold on the other hand makes no sense to me, instead of making the giant race stronger he hamstrung them and they are now suffering for it. For me he still isnt beating the Bad King alegations.
@Fragile Finger I think Garp's motivation is more genuine than most, as said previously, the only reason he stayed is to protect the Marines more specifically, his part of the Marines.
There is the thing called being a king. A leader is a difficult position that no one can understand, that's what make this all the more exciting
@Fragile Finger Also Garp hasn't turned blind eye to the message Government makes, he has turned blind eye more towards the things his family does, it's one of the reason Ace doesn't ask Garp to save him and neither does Sengoku and he was ready to throw it down with Akainu. He is there to protect people because sometimes that's the only place he could do it.
Leaving it meant leaving behind a huge chunk of people who were dependent on him.
I think Garp knew Dragon was going to cause a rebellion and that's one of the reason he let him go so easily.
