@CLOCKSTICK no for some braindead reason plot they didn't know he was blessed by heavens, and they didn't recovered their memory so fast, it was showed like flashback at some point of the Story when a major Protagonist plot was about to play, at first they didn't think about how they wronged MC but little by little they started to realize how insane their behaviour was and how scary the Protagonist halo was. Because in the novel you can see how diabolical protagonist halo is people who got affected by it became literally a different person like a new soul taking over your body, and the more they have their memory back the more they became desperate to gain mc affection (kind of hypocrite I think).
