So she is likely angry on the inside, but knows how to conceal it as she able to worm her way into the duke's family by charm and manipluation and she been living a noble life instead of the child of an affair partner. (Note: I do not blame the child of affair, this is the fault of the affair partners.) Still to survive, she had a chance to grow a little better or worse, she appears to have grown worse. It's clear she has a choice between the two brothers, is the husband of the mc, likely related to personal taste. Second, the fact that the princess is speaking on the behalf of the mc and say not her, means she is maniplating the princess through friendship after all she is getting help from the royal family. There is also the chance she is plain jealous for the mc that she is getting all of this without any true effort.
