ML BFF tells FL everything. He actually was in debt (father left and uncle was managing their family money) and loan sharks saw him with FL. They threatened to take her and have her work off his debts AKA hooking. He said he wasn't serious about her and caused that scene at University. At the wedding he was working four jobs and couldn't even afford a wedding gift. He just wanted to see the FL. After the honeymoon, he sobbed so hard - HIS BFF SAID HE NEVER INEW A MAN TO CRY LIKE THAT - and the only reason he got that high rank job?
A law professor saw him/recognised him at the wedding and asked what happened to him. He told what happened with his dad and then uncle. He got the debt resolved and uncle on most wanted list. He also got his thunder program sold and a high rank job.
ML begs his BFF to not let FL get married. He asks him to watch over her until he's successful and can win her back. Of course when he does try, she declines all his advances. She spits venomous words at him. He cries, gets on his knees and says she can do ANYTHING to him, whether it's hit, spit or make him her slave. Whatever he can do, to show how sorry he is.
