The question will be. Is there a crucial role for Frieren and co. for this situation. Are they somewhat the change in the situation this time or just part of what was about to happen.

@Marushi I think author would still remember that they're the main characters. I believe they might not be involved as much in hr most part but they will definitely bring the endgame.
