I'm gonna yap because I've always wanted to talk about this. I have this thing going on where in my head everyone is registered like an NPC or a background character. Like there's a category in my head called "People/everyone" pretty much everyone I can't recognise falls into this category. The exceptions being people that I've grown familiar with and can recognise in a crowd.
So for me to recognise someone instantly, they have to make a STRONG first impression/encounter with me, or they have to do or have something that makes them different from everyone else (voice/beauty marks/hair colour/outfits/personality/etc). So without something unforgettable about a person to connect their identity with, their face just doesn't register in my head.
So someone that falls into the "People/everyone" category, their face just doesn't reach my brain, even if I'm talking to them face to face, the moment I look away, my mind automatically deletes the information about how they look. Everyone looks like everyone.
(And there's this weird occurence where if I remember someone's face, I forget their name instead. Lol.)
Sorry I'm bad at explaining so this was the best i could put into words.
Funny note: it took me 5 months to finally start recognising Zara Larson even after watching her music videos repeatedly
