@Zei ik someone already answered but their answer seems wild out of context.. Chase goes to buy a ring by himself to propose, saying he was just buying a watch for himself. Then, he gets kidnapped by some weirdos who want his sperm to sell it, but Josh saves him. This might not be accurate since i read the novel like 6 months ago but im pretty sure that's what happened.. ;-;
