@The lord of haters i get what you are saying but i think the point of the story has been the change and contrast between his past as a ruthless alone person to his new life as someone who has people he looks out for.
and as his master from this life said the Dao that they are all looking for stems from the same place and is a mix of both light and dark, love and hate, righteous and demonic, so the MC HAS to change from being all demoic to having some light inside as well.
